Art of Work

Photobucket

My practical work is a boring one, as I mentioned last post. So boring that Microsoft Paint can no longer sustain me. Hence I would like to present my mascot of all time MashitMaro, this time drawn in Microsoft Excel!

How ur lecturers return ur papers?

How did your lecturers return your test or assignment papers?

Unlike tutorial exercises that tutors can give feedback to us one by one, it's always a problem in my course for lecturers to return tests and assignments to us because most lecturers fulfill their lecture hours to talk as much as they can regardless educative or not. Here are the few ways I classified after 1 year of observations.

Garbage Collector - "Dispose and collect if you want."
Photobucket
For less important papers, such as class quiz and class exercises (especially for maths subject that don't have tutorial). Lecturers usually will just leave the marked papers in from of faculty and ask students to pick up theirselves.

Beggar - "Don't rush, everyone will get his soon."
Photobucket
For most mid semester tests. Papers are distributed hand to hand because of 'privacy' issue. Don't really understand what so privacy about test scores though. After class, lecturer will call out names 1 by 1 and students will crowded around lecturer as in they can't wait to leave the lecture hall.

Patient - "xxx, it's your turn for diagnosis!"
Photobucket
Sometimes, lecturer would like to have some personal feedback with minority of the students. So he will give a list of student numbers that have to stay after class, and call their names or just queue up 1 by 1 for feedback.

Tekken 6 Statue!

I went JB Hi-Fi for a walk and checking out new games few days ago, and I saw this.

Photobucket

Super kool real size Jin and Kazuya pointing their fists at each other. It stated that the statue is sponsored by the game distributor, Namco himself and will be given away through a sort of lucky draw.

I'm not a die hard fan of Tekken, but I have been playing the game since Tekken 3. It's kinda hyped when I saw the statue for the first time. Anyway, if I won this statue.... I will definitely selling it in ebay! :D

Lego Transformer

Photobucket
Introducing latest transformer from Lego: Wolverine.

Photobucket
Transport Mode

This is not an official Lego. I made it during the meeting of my group project. I know it doesn't looks good, but I build it up only using Lego Brainstrom parts. As the title suggested, it's transformable too. LoL...

Photobucket

Different from last semester, we are allowed to form our own group for semester's project this time. I'm glad that I made my choice joining my current group. We are definitely not one of the best, but I'm having fun with my teammates.

Somehow the owner of the Lego allowed me to bring my creation home and it's now showcasing on my desk.

My Chronograph

I never think of collecting my portraits from age to age, but luckily my sister did. I was surprised when I saw these passport-size photos of mine on her mirror few years ago. After married, she gave me these photos because she no longer need them (Kinda sad telling this).

Lets see how I changed. XD

Japan Isn't Always Cool

I always like Japanese's creativity. Electronics, mobile phones, gadgets, toys, animations and dramas. I enjoy all of them. But definitely Not this!

Photobucket

These, are bras for men. I bet you'll have the same thought as me:"Why a man needs a bra?" I have no idea.... If you still don't believe your eyes, here's the complete introduction. I don't wanna pollute my blog anymore with those pictures.

After seeing that, I started to think will there be one day where all men wear brassieres. Zw also suggested maybe when the day came, men will became shame to show their breast like girls.... Now, that's really horrible.

Men's bra... Screw it!

Mysterious Case #01

Photobucket
Unrelated Pic : A graffiti in RMIT Block 57, Level 5, Male's Toilet.

Few hours ago, I was heating up my leftover chicken curry while Xavier (Unilodge floormate from HongKong) also making his dinner. I set the timer for 3 minutes but after around 1 minutes, both of us heard a 'Pop!' coming out from the microwave. Without second thought, I halted the heating to check what happened inside.

Photobucket

My precious 'microwave-able' container broke! What a shame that a 'microwave-able' container broke by microwave. The blizzard part, the broken piece was gone... The microwave is a close space, the part would not exploded out right? Even it's melted, we will still saw some plastic gel. But there is none. It's completely nothing inside.

Photobucket

My hypothesis : The quantum energy of the explosion is too powerful that dragged the missing piece to the 4th dimension.

Scary....

Fantastic Contraption

Photobucket

Recently. I've been addicted on this flash game called "Fantastic Contraption". Why the game is so addictive? Because it's all about Engineering! The objective of the game is to move the pink object pass by the pink region. The tools that we use to build our machines are wheels and rods.

There is no best way to solve the level. We can keep on trying to build new machine to solve the levels. The best part of this game is - We can save and upload our designs. After we completed the level, we'll able to check out others' masterpieces.

Photobucket
For this level.

Photobucket
You can just build a large tank to pass the gap.

Photobucket
Or you can fill in the gap with the block originally located above.

Photobucket
How bout this?

Photobucket
One of the solution.

Photobucket
Here's is another brilliant one.

Photobucket
This is my favorite machine that I found in the gallery. Someone even made walking machine!

And of course, there are some that made for laughter.

Photobucket
Dancing people. Surprisingly, it did send the pink ball pass the region in the end!

Photobucket
Drunken Lady. This one really funny...

Okay, I know this is a boring post... Engineering students, go try this game out. You will love it! For Medic and Art streams, this game will be really boring for u~~

ps: You can click those picture for links the see those machines in action if you interested.

F.F.S.

Photobucket
Model : ZhengWei
Title : Freedom

It has been awhile since last post of crap...

I always find those Short-forms that I encountered while reading forums or playing DotA to be interesting. People often using them more than just a short-form of their original meanings. Some classical short-forms like: 'WTF' 'OMG' and 'LoL' should be well known enough. Yet the evolution of these short-forms will never end. From time to time, some unfamiliar short-forms will pop out from no where. Sometimes I don't even bother to check what they mean, because they are usually meaningless.

So I encountered this 'FFS' since I started playing DotA via Aussie server. Both Darryl, ZhengWei and me have no idea what's that mean, but we know that it's a term to scold people. Back in Malaysia, people usually use some dialect-translated short-forms like: 'CCB' 'MCB' and 'KNN'. ZhengWei always interpret it as 'F*ck F*ck S*ck' whenever he saw the word. Somehow I found it to be very funny, as I'll LoL everytime I try to pronounce it. Finally, someone told us that 'FFS' actually means 'For Fuck's Sake'. But I still prefer 'F*ck F*ck S*ck'...

The incident suddenly brought up some interesting short-forms that I know. 'ROFL' means 'Rolling On Floor Laughing' ; 'LuL' is not a typo of 'LoL' but meaning 'Lamely Uncomfortable Laugh' ; 'FTW' is not 'F*ck The What', but 'For The Win'.

*Oh, I learnt some short-forms off-Internet as well. 'NFAA' = 'Not Funny At All' - Lim Wei Yi

ps: Cannot connect to GG client anymore due to a bug which is fatal. No more DotA for good...

C905 - Return of the King

-This post is about handphone.

In 2006, the K750-W810-W800 trio had brought S.E. to the top 3 hp. companies in the world with their Camera/Phone dual design and Walkman™ branding. But since then, S.E. somehow become bighead or 'another Nokia' with its 'cacat (imperfect) models flooding' marketing strategy. And it's recent designs are so... trendy? that I almost vomit seeing them..

Enough with complaints. Now, introducing the return of S.E. as the king: C905. Finally, S.E. come out with a slider Cybershot™ that I carving for so long... The design looks great too, and most important - It's slim! But with the specs. and hypes, it'll surely cost a boom... (Estimate RM2200 1st launch)

Photobucket
8MP, Image Stabilizer, Face detection, Xenon. This is what a Cybershot™ should be!

This phone really resemble SO905i CS by S.E. Japan (even shared the same name), which is a good thing. They should adapt more Japanese models..
Photobucket

By the way, there is another rising star in my eyes, LG bringing their 3rd Black Label model (1st: LG Chocolate ; 2nd: LG Shine) - KF750 Secret . I only have 1 complaint about this phone - LG's ugly logo really spoiling the classy look. (Estimate RM1600 1st launch)
Photobucket
Touch Screen, 5MP. but no Xenon, and DivX video output!

One of these 2 will be my next 'wife' one day when the price dropped affordable...

Blogging?

There is a really humourous trend going on among my A-Level classmates - Switching from Friendster blog to Blogger's. I might not lead the trend but I'm the very 1st one to change to blogspot. LoL~ There were only 2 RSS feeds in my blog in February, Darryl's and Zennway's. Now, there are 10. (Zennway and Teckhong are using wordpress.)

Blogger allows users to customize blog template and add HTML/Java widgets.

Template:
- The easiest way is to download .xml file and upload it.
Photobucket
Dashboard > Layout > Edit HTML

There are thousand of webs offering free templates for blogger, Google is your best friend. These are my top rated sources of template. Since I only got 1 blog and cannot use all. I contribute:

InfoCreek: Mainly creating Wordpress template but sometimes there are blogger version.
(For your info, Cyril, Jovie and Darryl are using templates created by them.)
Gisele Jaquenod: Simply cute! (I modified mine from a template of this blog.)
blogger-templates: Not creating, but sharing nice templates the blogger found.

- Writing scripts is a work for pro, but we can modify some simple codes to make our templates unique.

For example:
If you wanna change the background image:

body {
background: url('http://www.imagehost.com/yourimage.jpg');
margin:0px;
text-align: center}

Find this line and replace the highlighted with the link of the image u wish to use. You may need a image host to upload the image, like photobucket or imageshack.

If you wish the background image stay still and not repeating:

body {
background: url(http://www.imagehost.com/yourimage.jpg) no-repeat;
margin:0px;
text-align: center;
background-attachment: fixed }

Add the highlighted words according to the location.

ps: You can learn more from BloggerBuster and
W3Schools.

Widgets:
Layout > Page elements > Add an element

Photobucket
- Feed : RSS feeder that allow tracking updates from other blogs without visiting the page.

To add feed, you cannot use the normal web address but need a RSS address.

Photobucket
Find and click this icon when you are visiting the blog, either in the blog page or your internet browser.

For Firefox:

Photobucket
For IE7:
Photobucket
It'll lead you to RSS page of the blog. Copy & paste the RSS address as feeder's url.

Photobucket
- HTML/Javascript : Add 3rd parties gadget by copy & paste the codes provided.
Some great source of gadget:
SpringWidgets, Widgetbox, Myflashfetish

- Click counter : Record the total visits to your blog.
There are many click counter, but I'll recommend the 1 I'm using - SiteMeter. Because it can ignore your own visits so you can know the exact visits of your blog. (Since the person visit your blog the most must be yourself)

ps: Blogger is now working on the gadget library of itself (
Layout > Page elements > Add an Gadget). But since it's Beta version, the library is still a bit messy.

End of Craps.

My MashitMaro

Being under depressed mood these days. Yet TMnut's ScreamyX successfully made me scream because of its poor connection. So I'm glad that I had decided to create MashitMaro blog that can distract myself from depression. Although there are actually only a few readers but at least I'll have something to entertain myself.

Photobucket

Well, these 'Shitians' didn't pop out from no where. Actually I'd created it since Form 5 and the 1st 'Shitian' I drew was Shitaro instead of MashitMaro. But I never named it Shitaro at the time. Later I created MashitMaro as Mashimaro was famous during that period. I like to draw, but I have no talent. So I always draw it (because it's simple to draw) when teachers were babbling boring facts or time when finished exam papers. I would like to show if got chance, MashitMaro appeared in almost every SPM question paper of mine.

You might took only few seconds to read a post, but it actually cost me hours for it. As I'm not familiar with Photoshop and lazy to learn its complexity, I use only Paint and ACDsee to done the jobs.

Photobucket
Paint: For simple drawing and colouring.

Photobucket
ACDsee: For resizing because Paint's resized quality is awful.

Photobucket
Photobucket.com: Never upload pictures to blogger but using this web-host instead. Used photobucket for long time, no special reason though.

Photobucket
My 'database'...

1st try to colour the background in my recent post. But since Paint is not as powerful as Photoshop, the instant colouring feature is not perfect enough. So I had to zoom in to colour the boundary click by click... That wallpaper took me almost 3 hours to complete! @_@ I think only this blanking period that I'll have so many times to waste...
Photobucket

After completed it, I just realised I should keep the refined drafts so I can change the background colour by 1 click next time without doing the same work again. But I never did so, stupid me... Now I'm redoing the same thing, colouring click by click for future ease. Haha... No problem, I got time!
