Giant Hypermarket was having sales last week. My mom wanna buy a few discounted plastic cabinets, so we paid a visit.
I think it has been more than 10 years since pricing with barcode in supermarkets proliferated in Malaysia. Yes, it does save a lots of time. But these supermarkets also take advantage on this system's weakness - customers can't read barcode, don't they? They will put confusing price tags to cheat consumers. E.g. : Put different but similar products' price on one single board. Customers are likely to mistakely took the expensive 1 in fact they planned to buy the cheap 1.
No doubt, Giant is one of them.

While we waiting the casher to confirm with her manager, I saw another aunty having a same situation too. So I went check it out.

We managed to avoid being overpriced because we bought only the cabinets. If people is buying a lots of stuffs which price's differences aren't that great, it's not possile to notice on spot.
Stay focus on the barcode scanner when paying!
